This page shows the progress for our SLS project in a step-by-step illustration.

Promote the project in host country.

On 18/08/2010 a match was organized in Kisii to promote the start of the African Passions project. The African Passions team played a neighboring village, in front of a 200 persons crowd.

From 20/10/2010 - 27/10/2010 a pre-season tournament, consisting of 8 teams, took place as a trial run for for the soon-to-start league. Green Rangers were the winners.

We now have 8 full squads (including a manager and assistant) who train frequently in anticipation for the start of the season.

On 12/11/2010 we start construction work on our first football pitch!

April 2011: THREE qualified coaches went out to Kisii to train the teams and coaches!!

April 2011: another successful pre-season tournament which Green Rangers won. Congratulations Green Rangers :) !

Register all players, teams and schools.

We now have 8 teams registered, each in partnership with a school :)

I.D's are in the process of being created, printed, and distributed.

Start building flat, safe football pitches.

On 18/10/2010 Harry went out to Kissi to monitor the general progress of the project, and also to prospect land for our first pitch. We have now chosen land and are in the process off distributing finances. Work should start imminently.

12/11/2010 Work has started on our first football pitch :)

See Before and After pictures here!!

July 2011: We decided to change direction, and instead build relationships between schools and teams. Now each team has an affiliated school; pitches are free to use for training and matches, academic performance and attendance of players is easier to monitor, and we are currently assessing proposals made by schools to improve facilities.

Refine, organise, and fund Self-Generating Income Scheme for teams.
